JOB DESCRIPTION
In order to meet ongoing business needs they are seeking to recruit an experienced Area Technician (Senior Maintenance Engineer) who, in broad terms, has the remit of maintaining and improving the day to day operational efficiency of area assets by ensuring regular and efficient maintenance is carried out. The incumbent's principal accountabilities will be as follows:
Develops the shift teams’ technical knowledge in line with site strategy. Actively supports/promotes preventative maintenance culture into shift teams. Delivers training requirements as necessary.
Trouble shoots equipment/process problems in conjunction with team members to ensure rapid resolution of problems and those team members learn from the experience.
Achieves and maintains a detailed knowledge of asset condition in order to effectively assist with maintenance planning and implementation.
Provides appropriate support to a continuous operation as needed.
Participates in the development and implementation of condition based maintenance programmes and precision maintenance techniques.
Ensures asset maintenance records are kept in accordance with site and legislative requirements.
Completes responsibilities in a safe manner. Provides for the safety and well being of all personnel within the area of influence. Develops maintenance risk assessments for new equipment and maintenance tasks on a timely basis.
Contributes to, develops and implements effective maintenance procedures ensuring their consistent application.
Communicates fully with team members through reports, documentation and meetings. Works co-operatively with all teams to effectively realise engineering plans across site.
Carry out continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency in conjunction with teams. Contributes to the installation and commissioning of new projects.
11. Assist in preventing reoccurrence of equipment failures by identifying cause and initiating solutions, ensuring asset performance improvements.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will ideally posess the following attributes:
- Qualified to at least Higher National Certificate level in either Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar industry (full details of the company / sector will be made clear upon application).
- Experience within a maintenance role is essential as the role carries senior responsibilities.
