Our client is a market leader within the transmission and distribution sectors, they are currently looking for an Operations Manager to join there prestigious team. THE ROLE
* To manage the operational performance of the project delivery teams to achieve or better business area margin and EBIT targets.
* To resource manage and plan the recruitment and development of the project delivery staff required to deliver existing and future projects.
* To actively initiate and implement continuous improvement initiatives (EFQM) to improve business area performance and profitability.
* Liaison with tendering department to sign onto scope, schedule, budget and resource requirements of tenders before submission.
* Liaison with procurement in the tendering and delivery phases of the project.
* Overview supplier performance against KPIs and assist procurement in addressing any underperformance.
THE PERSON
* Extensive experience in a line management function, preferably within the Electricity Transmission & Distribution Industry.
* Project and contract management experience is essential as well as experience in purchasing and tendering procedures
* Will be qualified to minimum of HNC in Engineering related subject.
* A Diploma / Masters in management related subject would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of CDM regulations / current H & S legislation & risk management processes
* Will be fully conversant in current transmission and distribution standards & technologies
* A knowledge of primary and secondary electrical design requirements would be desirable
