COMPANY
My Client is a reputable company based in the North East, just outside of Newcastle supplying its product into the lucrative oil and gas sector.
ROLE
Due to ongoing business needs, they are currently looking to recruit a Process Engineer whose broad remit is to develop and maintain processes to enable efficient product manufacturing to take place. This work will be project orientated and will involve workingon various projects at various stages at any one time.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
o Assessing processes in terms of adequacy of equipment
o Designing, installing and commissioning new production processes
o Monitoring modifications and upgrades to process/equipment and troubleshooting existing processes
o Managing the cost and time constraints of projects
o Ensuring processes work at the optimum level and to the right quality
o Ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations
o Working closely with other specialists eg local universities
o Undertaking project work as directed by the Engineering Manager both product improvement and process improvement projects
o Understanding the key input and output variables for the process and how they may be affected by your actions
o Implement continuous improvement actions through effective use of closed loop process controls
o Feedback issues to other team members and develop robust corrective actions where necessary
o Implement remedial action at the process point as problems occur
o Using appropriate engineering methodology to conduct analysis and improve process capability
o Supervising the work of more junior members of the engineering team where necessary

The successful candidate will ideally posess the following attributes:
Communication: Clear, articulate communication skills both oral and written.
Positive, effective interpersonal skills with strength to influence and persuade others.
Ability to establish and maintain constructive rapport with all departments.
Business: Understanding of wider business issues and how engineering fits in with the rest of the business.
Technical: Must be technically strong, with ability to gain a good understanding of Elfab’s products and services.
Understanding of SPC, FMEA and statistical analysis.
Computer literacy: Good knowledge of Excel/Word/Powerpoint/Outlook
Qualifications: Qualification in Mechanical Engineering is essential. Prior relevant experience is also essential.
Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with company policy, procedures and good practice regarding H&S.
