Job Description

Our client in the public sector requires a Procurement Team Leader to work in the Purchasing Department in their Finance Office in Alnwick Northumberland. This is a Temporary role due to commence ASAP until 31 January 2010. Primary skills are as follows: To support the recruitment process, motivate, lead and manage team members in the Purchasing Department to ensure delivery of a quality service within agreed customer KPI and SLAs. To deliver a customer focused service. To ensure the accuracy of all transactions and carry out management checks at the agreed level of the role. Ensure performance against agreed SSD customer service standards. To allocate and manage resource to ensure performance indicators are achieved. Ensure all accounts requiring justification or reconciliation are actioned and certified to required timescales and distributed where appropriate in accordance with SLA. To control the preparation of all returns in accordance with statutory and departmental guidance in a timely manner to include Parliamentary Questions & Freedom of Information. To ensure all Desk Instructions and Procedures are accurate, maintained, followed and up-to-date in accordance with BS799. To participate and encourage a culture of continuous development of all people, processes and procedures. Adherence to all HR policies including performance appraisal requirements and processes, equal opportunities and training & development. Establish and maintain effective communication channels. Management of Catalogue creation and maintenance Resolution of issues arising from the purchasing activities within the individuals control Management of team's day to day activities Execution of purchase orders Secondary skills & Qualifications: Studying or prepared to study for Purchasing Certificate of Competence Knowledge: Knowledge of contract specifications and terms. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30 to 17.00 and 8.30 to 16.30 on Friday 37 hours per week and the pay rate is £8.00 per hour.
