Job Description
Site Operations Manager (Manufacturing)
Newton Aycliffe, County Durham
Salary circa £47,000 + benefits
Our client is a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of acrylic-based products.
The business is pursuing an aggressive growth strategy, and further improvements to the sites manufacturing capability are one of the key elements in delivering this strategy.
Responding to the General Manager, this is one of three senior management positions on site. Leading all manufacturing operations (production, quality control and logistics) you will deliver significant improvements to SHE/HE and operational standards and processes, including the development of the people, to meet the business strategy. Additionally, you will lead the provision of the plant DCS software development and support, and the site\'s safe systems of work and emergency response systems.
The role is varied, requiring both excellent leadership as well as substantial personal delivery of work. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of achieving significant improvement by applying a project managed approach and working through other people. Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, preferably chartered, with significant experience of line management in process plant operations. Experience of issuing high level entry and fire permits, and working with DCS systems is a necessity. Successful candidates would become part of the site\'s out of hours emergency duty team once trained.
In addition to the starting salary there is an attractive benefits package (including profit related bonus, 25 days holiday allowance plus 2% holiday or cash bonus, medical insurance and a competitive pension scheme with up to 10% Company contribution) as well as opportunities for further development within the company for the right candidate.
