Role Summary
The role involves preparing accounts, independently, for a wide range of businesses including medical clients, from the client’s source documentation as well as assisting in the preparation of management accounts and to provide a fee-paying service to unincorporated partnerships and individuals.
In dealing with your duties and responsibilities you will be required to work in accordance with the firm’s procedures and policies, relevant statutory procedures and current best practice guidelines.
Main Role Responsibilities
You will be expected to:
Prepare the financial accounts of unincorporated businesses and to review the work of other department staff when required.
Provide, book keeping, accountancy finance, expertise, skills and knowledge.
Be flexible, conscientious and act at all times with tact and discretion
Adhere to the Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
To be proactive regarding your own and departmental staff’s training and development, including Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
In addition to your main role responsibilities, you will be expected to undertake on behalf of the firm such additional duties as may from time to time be assigned to you having regard to your capability, experience and qualifications

Person profile
We would expect you to have developed a good attention to detail have a logical, analytical approach and to be able to use initiative you must also exhibit a helpful and friendly attitude
In addition we would expect you to:
Be MAAT Qualified
Must have the ability to produce a draft set of accounts.
Have previous experience within a practice environment.
Have practical experience in dealing with accounts for Medical clients.
Have experience of using Sage software.
Have the ability to prioritise own and when necessary other members of the team’s workload.
Be confident with numbers, using ICT and be a confident user of spreadsheets
Be able to communicate and explain technical information clearly and to exhibit written and verbal communication skills
Exhibit a logical, analytical approach to problem solvingand have the ability to remain impartiall
Enjoy solving problems and have commercial awareness
Understand aspects of and have an interest in the business process
Have an interest in current affairs and the economy
To have the ability to work alone to be able to work with others and at times lead a team
Be able to communicate with people from all backgrounds.
Exhibit a professional telephone manner.
