Full Description:
Manufacturing Manager required for a multinational established growing food company based in Yorkshire. Established over seventy years ago this company have a truly global client base.

Offering a competitive salary in the region of £30,000- £35,000 per annum. Your main responsibilities will involve the planning, co-ordination of the manufacturing site by control of machinery, people, and materials and of all employees to achieve business excellence in all areas of manufacturing.

Main Activities/Duties

Product tracking to achieve 100% traceability, full paperwork audit trails on a shift by shift basis.

Encourage ownership of the process to your team members this will enable the “quality” initiative to be everyone’s responsibility.

Prevention of physical and microbiological contamination of product.

Ensure relevant HACCP plans are in place.

Responsibility for hygiene cleaning and procedures to comply with product safety, legal and legible specifications.

All personnel must comply with the high personal hygiene & housekeeping standards as laid down within the GMP rules.

Support the company’s training programme initiatives which include process training standards and national vocational qualifications (NVQ’s).

Drive cost, complexity, quality & health and safety issues to improve standards


Ensure appraisals carried out.

Lead from the front in terms of leadership and communication to teams.

Ensure accurate staff holidays are managed efficiently and absenteeism levels kept to a minimum. Manage disciplinary procedures consistently and constructively.

Liaise with all departments in advance of peak requirements i.e.; Human Resources.

To manufacture products in the most cost-effective manner, without compromising on safety, quality and equipment.

Be able to liaise with clients both over the phone and often on a face to face site visits. This role is a hands on role and candidates with food manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
