We operate in more than 160 countries around the globe. Through our suppliers, shippers, retailers and other service providers, we directly or indirectly employ nearly one million people. That includes more than 30,000 Nike employees across six continents, each of whom make their own contribution to fulfilling our mission to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world.
Currently within the UK, Nike employs over 900 team members. We have offices based in London and Dublin and our UK headquarters are in Doxford Park, Sunderland.
We also have 16 factory stores within the UK and Ireland, employing over 400 people. Niketown London opened in the summer of 1999 and is one of many Niketowns globally. We have 69,000 sq. ft of retail space spread over three floors and more than 300 employees, which makes us the largest Niketown in the world. Our goals have always remained the same - to be a place where athletes and people with a passion for sports connect and to be the leading sports retail experience in the world.
We also manage another related business from the UK. Manchester United and Nike joined forces in August 2002 to create Manchester United Merchandising Limited. As a Nike owned business, Manchester United Merchandising Limited, works in partnership with Manchester United and Licensees to create exciting Manchester United Product across all categories i.e. apparel, mugs, games, stationery, etc. This authentic Manchester United Merchandise is marketed via key retail partners and within our Manchester United Megastore.

If you have a body, you are an athlete. When Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman made this observation many years ago, he was defining how he viewed the endless possibilities for human potential in sports. He set the tone and direction for a young company called Nike, and today those same words inspire a new generation of Nike employees.
