British Engines is a well established and successful, privately owned engineering company producing a range of internationally renowned products to markets throughout the world. An exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional has arisen within our established HR Department that provides a centralised HR service to a group of companies employing c1000 employees.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the HR Director, you will initially focus on providing the lead in the implementation of the final stages of our new Sage/Snowdrop integrated HR system, after which it will provide a senior generalist service to the group.
Your responsibilities will include:

* Overseeing the completion of our HR system project, including implementation of a self-service facility for managers and employees.
* Developing the application and use of the HR System.
* Supporting the provision of an effective advisory and consultative HR service across the full range of HR/employee issues including:-
* Employee relations
* Resourcing and recruitment
* Reward & salary administration
* Provision of management information
* Reporting, maintaining and reviewing company policies, terms, and conditions
* Ensuring that the delivery of the HR service is comprehensive, pro-active and accessible to all levels of management and employees.

THE PERSON
You will be educated to degree level with HR experience gained in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment. You will have an extensive understanding of UK employment legislation with experience of managing a variety of employee relations casework including disciplinary, grievance, and performance management. In addition, you will be CIPD qualified with a good working knowledge of how to implement and develop HR systems.

You will be a confident professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to operate and influence at a senior level. You will be able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team and manage time and conflicted deadlines effectively. In addition, you will possess strong IT skills.
